Even in our digital world, there is a reason we still have artists who create with paint and brushes, architects who imagine with pen and paper, and potters who mold with their hands covered in clay. Art is a necessary and beautiful part of our existence, and I believe wholeheartedly in the value of tangible creativity. Working with film subtracts the digital screen and replaces it with the knowledge that I don’t just press a button and a photograph appears - but rather, in that one moment, light and color was captured onto a piece of film negative. Without a screen to rely on, I must be confident in my craft, which challenges me daily to become a better artist. The most important reason, though, is the light and color quality of film creates a dreamlike photograph, transporting you immediately to that moment with a certain vividness, in a way that digital photography can never emulate.

I would describe my photography style as being boldy natural with a painterly touch. Timeless, relaxed, full of natural light, thoughtfully
styled and brimming with emotion and love. Your wedding day will be captured in a mix of film
and digital, giving you the best of both worlds. I embrace grain, soft focus and other aspects of
film but also enjoy airy, fun reception images that can only be achieved with digital cameras.
Yes, we would be happy to provide a custom quote for you.
Yes. Travel is included for weddings within 50 miles of Charleston, SC. Destination engagement
sessions will be charged at an additional fee. Inquire for specific rates.
Sessions typically produce a minimum of 60 images. Weddings typically produce an average of 60
images per hour, but that is highly dependent on variables like timeline, details, wedding size, etc.
Typical turnaround times for sessions are 4-6 weeks. Typical turnaround times for wedding images are
6-10 weeks during peek wedding season. The process includes shipping film across the country to the
best film development lab in the US, editing digital images to match film scans, ordering and
renumbering images, basic blemish removal, and loading every image into an online portfolio.
Greatness takes time!
We’re excited to have you! We take on a very limited number of weddings each year to ensure
every Rachel Red bride gets the attention and custom experience they deserve, so we’ll most likely
have a phone or in person consultation to make sure we are a perfect fit. The next step is to make
things official. To reserve your wedding date, a signed contract and a 33% non-refundable retainer
is requested. The second payment of 33% is due 90 days prior to your wedding date and the final
34% is due 30 days prior. Checks and most credit cards are accepted with email reminders 7 days
before each payment is due.
Engagement sessions are included in three of the Rachel
Red Photography wedding packages. Why? We want to
get to know you! It’s also important to feel comfortable
in front of the camera before the wedding day begins,
and these sessions are the perfect opportunity to create
a relaxed environment that gives a glimpse of your life
as an engaged couple. Clients who have engagement
sessions are generally happier with their wedding port-
folios, and at Rachel Red Photography it’s our number
one goal to make you happy!
“I consider it to be an incredible honor to play a part in one of the most important
days of your life. My clients have moved me. They have helped me see love in a
new and fresh way. They have truly restored my faith in love. My approach is honest.
I want to create classic images that reflect that love and show that joy! It is my
greatest desire to create images that remind you of your passion for each other for
years to come. To create heirlooms of the commitment that brought you together.
Heirlooms to pass on to future generations so they see past the beautiful colors, the
gorgeous light, and land on your love”
